a. My brother, Chris, called me today JUST so he could be in the brain dump. He said, "You talked to me today, so now I gotta be in the brain dump." My brother is so desperate for attention. lol
b. He said, "I should be all over that brain dump, and have at least three letters." So, to help him feel good about himself, let's go to letter C.
c. He was on the phone singing, "I'm part of the braaaain dump!" He complained that everyone else in the family had been part of the dump, but he had to call to be in it. He said that we shared the same womb, and he hasn't been in the brain dump.
d. Finally, he said he read the first two days, but stopped reading when he didn't see his name. Please pray for my brother. ;-)
e. I forgot to mention it yesterday, but a bird ran into my windshield on the way home from church yesterday ... and died. To honor him, I created an obituary (note Wingo's feather fresh extricated from my window).
f. Max and I both got haircuts today. For the first time in years, I had it faded. For the past 8 hours Max has been going on and on about how good my cut looks. Meanwhile, I'm still disappointed that I paid $20 + a tip for just my cut. THIS is why I bought clippers several years ago to cut my own hair. Had I had access to them (they're in storage), I would have cut my hair myself.
g. Today was the first day in nearly two weeks that I got some Marriage Works! work done. Man, it feels good to work.
h. I booked a flight to New Jersey today to spend time with my friend Edgar, and attend his wife's funeral. While up north, I'll also spend some time with my college roommate, Brian. He and I roomed together for three years.
i. I had some concern about buying a ticket to New Jersey considering we're saving money to get into a house (the first month's payment will be nearly $4000 considering the app, pet, deposit, and monthly fees). But, I really wanted to support Edgar, and more importantly, I believe God wanted me to be there.
j. The flights I saw a few days ago were $1000. Today I saw one for $619. After some more searching, I found one for $489. SCORE!
k. Not long after I bought the ticket, we received a surprise gift of $500 from someone we love deeply. You know who you are. Thank you so much. I am humbled that you keep sharing with us.
l. Having the price of the ticket covered, with $11 to spare, shows us that God knows what's going on with us, and truly does care. How encouraging and refreshing.
m. Cetelia and I went walking today, and a dog with fang-like teeth came from under a fence towards us. I yelled for him to stop, and he did. Had he kept coming, he might have gotten a rock upside the head. I don't believe in animal cruelty, but I do believe in protecting my wife and self.
n. When in NC, I always had my shirts starched heavily so that they'd always be ready when I got dressed, and so that I'd stay wrinkle free all-day. Well, I wore a shirt to church Sunday that I ironed. It was wrinkled about 20 mins later. Today I dropped off 6 button-up shirts at a $1.09 dry cleaner. I cannot go through life with a wrinkled shirt. That's just not me.
