Before I start today's brain dump, let me address a couple of questions:
I've been asked exactly where we are in Texas, and why we're here. The short answer: Cetelia and I sensed God leading us to this area. The longer answer: We're on a walk of faith, similar to Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 12:1-3.

It just so happens that Dallas and Houston are 2 of the top 5 largest areas where we have a base of folks affiliated with Marriage Works!, our marriage organization. How like God to lead us to a place where we can grow in faith, and in our mission to help marriages. Right?!? Currently we're in Forth Worth, but by next week we're hopeful we'll be in the Plano area in our own digs.
Now for today's brain dump ...
• Yesterday I mentioned that we were at the house of friends we met in February.
• It was 90° today ... at 5 PM. The scary part is that it's not even summer yet. To quote Mater from Cars, "Holy shoot!"

• Yesterday I mentioned that we were staying with friends we met in February on a cruise. We joked with them yesterday that they are some very trusting folks! Who else would allow folks they've known for two days to a) stay with them, b) give them a key to the house, and c) leave them at home alone with their stuff?
They must have overlooked the fact that we have a moving truck outside. For all they know, the moving truck is empty, and we came to case the joint!

• I love the wide open space down here - I could get used to this.
• In Psalm 50:10, God says the cattle on a thousand hills are his. Well, today I saw a thousand cattle on a hill that belonged to Farmer Joe!
• A grandfather of a fourth grader and kindergartner is our realtor, and a really swell guy.
• He burned his gas today, and treated us to lunch!
• Before you say, 'Well, he's doing it because he wants your money," it's worth noting that he might make $500 on this transaction. Since we're renting, he gets a 50% split of the 50% split his company makes on the transaction.
• Based on the cost of gas, and the fact that it takes 45-60 minutes to get anywhere down here, he could wind up losing money working with us. That makes me appreciate his effort even more.
• After lunch I was sooo tired. I was in the front seat with our realtor, and I fell asleep on him as he was talking to me. Whoops. Maybe I'm still recuperating from the drive from Alabama that just-would-not-end!
• We looked at four houses today, and I wouldn't even put my enemy in three of them!
•
One of them has potential, and we'll add it to the possibility list.
• We look at up to 10 houses tomorrow ... God will help us!

• We passed the $60 million HIGH SCHOOL football stadium in Allen today that cannot be used due to foundation problems. Click here to read more about it.
• We're making connections, and have already been invited to speak at a marriage event on June 23rd. In the words of my friend Craig, "Go God!"
• If this one goes well, it could lead to a larger opportunity in September. #Grateful
• A lady named Davisha was at Chick-Fil-A reading her bible. I walked up to her and asked what God was saying to her. She said she was going through some things, so the passage from Philippians 4:6-8 was encouraging to her. She was startled that I asked, and even more startled that I asked how I could pray for her. The passage is encouraging to me, so I'm glad I asked.
• I spoke with some friends from NC, and it was really special.
• I'm grateful for the calls, emails, and messages on Facebook - even though it's taking me more time than I like to respond.
• Last thing: I caught our realtor in a funny spot today. He was putting the key lock box back on the door, but it looked like he was marking his territory so no other realtors would touch the house. Cetelia said I shouldn't share it with anyone other than my brother, but I have to ... it's hilarious.
