a. My trip to New Jersey was good. There were plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends, encourage others in the faith, and meet new people.
b. The best part of the day was eating breakfast with the whole gang: Edgar and Jill's family, the neighbors, and the neighbor's family. I absolutely loved the community and ethnic diversity.
c. During breakfast I learned about the Hollywood soundtrack recording process from Andy Malloy.
d. I managed to have four straight exit row seats during my trip to and from New Jersey. Maybe I'll buy last minute on Hotwire more often!
e. On the way home from Detroit, I sat between two pilots - both captains, and both named Tom. During the pushback, taxi, and takeoff I received a play-by-play of what was happening in the cockpit. It was an education for sure!
f. The two Toms could not have been more different. One Tom has been married for 27 years, and has a great relationship with his wife. He and his wife are both Christians, and do lots of things together. They have two daughters, 20 and 24, who both still love to interact with their parents.
g. The other Tom has been married for 17 years, and only one of them has been good. He has had three affairs, with the longest lasting 6 years. He was beginning the dirvoce process when his wife told mohim she had breat cancer. He halted it to get her treated. He believes she has mental illness that has never been diagnosed. It's a sad situation. Fortunately, I was able to pray for him and give him some encouragement.
h. It was great to see my family after four days, and we reunited by getting some food, going to Walmart, and getting back to the house at 1 AM due to our errands, and of course, the unending work on the Dallas highways.
